Surgeries & Key Procedures

Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at United Hospital, Bangalore has an excellent team of doctors, with expertise and experience in conducting complex surgical procedures. Some of the surgeries we perform include:

Tubal Ligation

Tubal Ligation is a process to prevent pregnancy and achieve birth control. This is one of the most commonly recommended surgical sterilization procedures for women. This procedure can be done either after the birth of the child or in combination with any other abdominal surgery. Tubal Ligation decreases the chances of developing cervical cancer.

Hysterectomy

Hysterectomy is a procedure performed to remove the Uterus. Gynaecologists recommend Hysterectomy to treat conditions such as Gynaecologic Cancers, Uterine Prolapse, Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding and Chronic Pelvic Pain. This surgery is done after getting complete approval of the patient as it completely removes any chances of attaining pregnancy naturally.

Oophorectomy

This is a surgical procedure performed to remove an ovary. Oophorectomy is generally suggested to those patients who are susceptible to developing Ovarian Cancer. Depending upon the patient’s health condition, doctors may choose the process of surgical intervention; either through abdominal incision or Laparoscopic Surgery.

Cone Biopsy

This is a small surgery performed to remove a cone-shaped tissue from the cervix. The procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Cone Biopsy is generally recommended to patients who are at high risk of developing cervical cancer. This procedure also removes the abnormal cervical cells from the outer surface or inner part of the cervix.
